Thanks Guillaume. Yes, I've got over 30 years experience in software development, so I know how software release cycles work.
I’ve been supporting 3CX systems for customers for more than 10 years. I’ve seen hundreds of comments exactly like yours, asking exactly the same question, and the answer has always been the same.
I’ll save you the wait: 3CX generally doesn’t provide ETAs for regular updates.
The only times I’ve seen 3CX give an ETA, usually within a few days, were when there was a major bug causing real operational impact for end customers and a fix was urgently required. In more than 10 years, I can count those cases on one hand.
What you’re describing isn’t a bug. It’s a limitation.
Permissions have worked this way for several versions. Users have explained their needs, 3CX listened, and they’re adding more flexibility. What
@NikosK_3CX is saying is that the next version will provide additional flexibility.
He isn’t saying that 3CX is fixing a bug.
If you want the best indication available, calculate the historical development cycle of a 3CX update.
The average is roughly 3 months.
Based on previous update cycles:
-
Around 25% chance of August
-
Around 20% chance of September
-
Around 45% chance of October
- Around 10% chance of November
So if you absolutely want an
unofficial ETA, October is the most reasonable answer.
No guarantee. Just historical probability.
If you still prefer to wait for a 3CX staff member to give you an official ETA, that’s fine.
But historically, you probably won’t get one.
Ref.:
Hi Jim,
No, there is no ETA to share, we know this is a very important feature and we'll be adding it as soon as we can, but we can't provide any dates...
Kind regards.
If it is for reporting we will be releasing the reporting integration with Update 5. (No ETA)
If you wait for update 5, which will be 1-2 months we are thinking (BUT WE ARE NOT SURE) you will have access to accurate reporting data which you can easily do your own reports. Its going to be the big feature of update 5. So just wait a bit more
@TheoJanssen11
Exceptions that use specific office hours do indeed currently only work with the 3CX Standard Office-hours mode so what you're experiencing is actually expected.
That said, we are looking into ways to improve this however there currently is no ETA for when a change in behavior for this feature will be released.
Hi
@jeffharlan,
I can't give an ETA on that, suffice to say that keeping an eye on the blog for announcements regarding QuestBlue would be best.
