Hi, I spent a large amount of time thinking I was going insane, when trying to debug some call flow on a customers system and couldn't find the Reports menu option. After a lot of forum searching, I found this comment by Theodore:-

"Please refer to the below guideline with the complete list of roles and access as System Admin does not have access to the reports:
https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/access-roles/"

Can someone please explain the thinking behind this, it would seem to me that the sys admin is the person most in need of the reports?

Thanks,
Garrick

Please note that, for now, the roles that have access to the reports are as per the blog you mentioned.
In update 10, you will be able to provide separate permissions for reports and call recordings from the view options of the extensions.

Thanks Nikos. Do we know when update 10 will be available?

Thanks,

Hi,
Update 10 Alpha is already available. However, it shouldn’t be installed in production environments, as it’s intended for testing purposes.

There are still several development phases to go through, including Beta, usually with multiple Beta releases, followed by RC, which also generally includes several releases.

Very few companies, including 3CX, provide a precise release schedule for every update. That’s completely normal in software development, as release dates can change depending on testing results and issues discovered along the way.

If you’d like to get a general idea of the average time between each development phase, you can look at the release history of previous updates. While that won’t give you an exact date or any guarantee, it’ll provide a useful indication of the typical time required between Alpha, Beta, RC, and the final release.

It can help you manage your expectations regarding the minimum amount of time that may be needed before the final version becomes available.

Thanks Guillaume. Yes, I've got over 30 years experience in software development, so I know how software release cycles work.

My question was based on the fact that I have a customer with an issue that can't readily be debugged because of what is essentially a bug in the permissions setup of the current version. The current answer is that we need to wait for the next version before this bug is resolved. With that being the defined policy, I was hoping someone from 3CX could offer a reasonable time estimation of when Update 10 will progress from Alpha, to release. This isn't a question about looking at release cycles to get an idea of when new features will be available, it's about having a manner of managing customer expectations of when they can expect an answer to the call issues they're experiencing.

Thanks again for your feedback though.
Cheers,
Garrick
