New 3CX hosted installation using Snom D785 phones and FlowRoute SIP trunks.

When placing outgoing calls, the caller initially hears European ("beep beep") ring tones for several seconds while the call is being routed. Once the call begins ringing at the destination, the tones switch to normal US ring tones. I'm sure I'm using the wrong terminology here, so if someone wants to correct me, I would appreciate it.

I think the 3CX system is producing internal ring tones to let the caller know that something is happening - rather than just listening to dead silence - while the call is being routed. Once the call is processed and routed, the caller then hears ring tone from the destination carrier. Is that a reasonable synopsis?

Is there any way to change 3CX configuration so the tones produced during call routing are traditional US ring tones? The vast majority of our calls are to US destinations. On the rare occasion when we call an international destination, it would be acceptable to hear US ring tones initially and the destination's local ring tones once the call is routed through.

How can I adjust the sounds our callers hear initially on outgoing calls?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply and the correct answer! For the benefit of others with similar problems, I'll summarize:

While establishing an outgoing call, the phone is responsible for generating the initial ringback tones indicating call progress. The specific tones generated are selected through the 3CX IP Phone Configuration --> Language option. Select English for British ringback tones. Select English (US) for tones traditional for the US.
