To be clear, without a SIP trunk, your phone system will work but you won’t be able to make and receive external calls. You will be able to receive internal calls and Facebook and WhatsApp messages if set up. That’s not a limitation of 3CX – no modern phone system works without a SIP channel to route calls.

But it’s still great news – a SIP channel is typically much cheaper to run than a traditional ISDN phone line, as are the call charges. As well as acquiring a full-featured multi-user phone system, you can reduce your costs too.
