This beta introduces several updates focused on visibility, control and usability.
The Beta release of 3CX Android App V5.3 is now available. There’s some general improvements along with new features available from Version 20 Update 7, including voicemail transcription previews, number blocking, and SMS restrictions based on country codes. Read on for more.
View Transcription Snippets for Voicemails & Recordings

When transcription is enabled, users will now see a snippet of the content directly in the call list:
- Voicemails display part of the actual transcription
- Call recordings show a short summary
- Tap the transcription icon to view the full text
This allows users to quickly identify important calls without opening each one.
Block Numbers from Call or Chat History
From Version 20 Update 7, users can block numbers (including WhatsApp and SMS) directly from the chat or recents list. Blocked contacts are added to the CID Blacklist and will not be able to call or message you.
From Chats:
- Open the chat
- Tap the menu icon in the header
- Select Block number
From Recents:
- Tap the menu icon next to the number
- Select Block number > Confirm
SMS Restrictions via Allowed Country Codes
SMS is now restricted based on the configured “Allowed Country Codes” list. If a user tries to send a message to a number outside the permitted prefixes, the action is blocked and an error is shown in the client.
This change ensures consistent enforcement of outbound communication rules across all channels. This feature is also available from Version 20 Update 7.
