With Update 4 Alpha, you can now make and receive calls directly from your browser without the need to open the web client as a tab or in fact even have your browser active. Launch calls from the window you are working in, such as Office 365 or your CRM. Rather than taking you to a new tab, it will bring any incoming call alerts to the front of your desktop, in the form of a pop-up.

The new 3CX Google Chrome Extension, adds a fully functional client within the browser, for users to manage calls without ever leaving the window they are working on.

Email? CRM? Browsing? Stay Put, Calls will Pop-up

Use the new Google Chrome Extension and make calls from your browser or CRM

Previously, the Web Client had to be active in order to launch and receive calls. The 3CX Extension for Chrome changes all this, giving you the freedom to take a call without having to leave the window you are working in. Calls will come through via pop-ups even if the browser window is minimized or closed. With its built-in Click to Call functionality, you can dial numbers directly from the browser or CRM.

Configuration is easy:

  1. Login to your Web Client and click on “Install 3CX Extension for Chrome” to open in the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Click “Add to Chrome” to add the extension to your browser and “Add extension” in the pop-up window to install.
  3. Go back to the Web Client and click on “Activate your 3CX Extension for Chrome”.
