Updated chat settings, participant panel, and “Raised Hand” for iOS and Android apps.
Users can expect an improved virtual meeting experience and better chat management whilst hosting and presenting with the 3CX Video Conferencing mobile apps - both for Android and iOS.
Here’s a summary of what we’ve been working on for this release.
New Chat Control Settings and Notifications

Meeting hosts and co-hosts now have greater control over the chat. We’ve added the ability to enable and disable the chat as needed throughout the duration of the video conference. Clicking on the keyboard icon will unlock and lock the chat for all other members in the meeting.

Hosts, co-hosts and moderators will now be notified of a participant’s “Raised Hand” via a new icon at the top of the screen (replacing the notification previously made through Chat). Clicking on this icon will redirect you to the Participant Panel.
Changes to Participant Panel

The participant panel now includes a new button which allows the moderators, hosts and co-hosts to lower, or disable, all raised hands in a meeting.
You’ll also note that users are now sorted alphabetically by their role in the meeting (Organizer, Co-Host, Presenter, Participant, etc.), same as in the Web Client.
Other Updates & Fixes
- The “Spotlight” participant’s name will now be visible in ‘Presenter View’
- Users can now toggle between ‘Chat’ and ‘Questions’ button in drawer menu
- Restored pre-built WebRTC
- Technical updates made to packages, flutter and internal code optimizations
