New firmware ensures compatibility with 3CX V20 Update 7.

Yealink has finally released new firmware for several legacy and end-of-life (EOL) phone models. These updates address a security issue recently reported by the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), registered under ICSA-25-219-08.

3CX has verified interoperability of these firmware versions with the latest 3CX Version 20 Update 7. According to Yealink, these builds address the reported CISA security issue. 3CX has not conducted independent security validation.

Provisioning Changes for EOL Devices

If you plan to provision any of the above-mentioned EOL devices, please follow one of the provisioning options below.

Plug-and-Play (PnP) Provisioning

If 3CX is on-premise or connected via SBC, simply connect the phone to the LAN.

Then open the PNP dialog in the Admin Console: Admin Console → Phones → PNP Phones. Locate your phone, click it and assign it to the extension of your choice. The phone will automatically provision once assigned.

Manual Provisioning

If Plug-and-Play (PnP) is not available, you can still register these devices manually using the phone’s web interface.

  1. Create the phone entry in 3CX
    1. Go to Admin Console → Users → [Select User] → IP Phone → Configure a phone
    2. Choose “I will configure the phone myself” and click “Next”
    3. Choose your SBC or Local LAN/VPN, then click “Add Phone”
    4. Copy the Authentication ID, Password and Registrar (FQDN/IP + Port) details.
  2. Access the phone’s web interface
    1. Find the phone’s IP address from its screen
    2. Open a browser and log in (default user/pass is admin/admin)
  3. Enter the SIP account details
    1. Go to Account → Register and fill in:
      1. Line Active: Enabled
