DATEV CRM Integration

3CX now offers direct support for the DATEV telephony solution. The plugin reports incoming and outgoing calls from the 3CX client to the DATEV software. It’s possible to dial directly from the DATEV application and, furthermore, calls initiated by the 3CX client are reported to the DATEV software. In the case of an incoming call, the number is compared with the numbers in the central data of DATEV pro and the corresponding addressee is opened.
- 3CX v15 PRO Edition
- Installed 3CX client for Windows on the DATEV PC
- Installed 3CX DATEV integration on the DATEV PC
- Installed DATEV pro (DATEV workstation pro as of V.5)
- Installed program DATEV telephony basis (from V.1.2)
Installing the DATEV Integration
You need to download the plugin from the “Management Console > Updates Page.”
Administrators can assign extensions to the DATEV Plugin.
Deploying the DATEV Integration
In order to deploy the DATEV integration to your users, please follow these steps:
- Providing DATEV integration
From the 3CX Management Console you need to download the plugin from the 3CX update server to your 3CX server. Go to "Settings" > "CRM Integration" page. From the "Available CRM Integrations" panel select DATEV and press “Download”.
- DATEV integration with the extension(s)
To assign the DATEV plugin to an extension, go to the “Extensions” page from the management console. Select the extension and click Edit, then navigate to the “Integration” tab. Enable Integration and select DATEV.zip from the list.
- Repeat the previous step for each extension you need to be set with DATEV.
After completing these steps, and once the 3CX client is provisioned, the integration package will be received from the 3CX server and will be ready for use by the extension.
Configuring the DATEV Plugin
In order to open the configuration dialog, from the 3CX client for Windows, press the Settings button.
Select “Advanced Settings” and then click “Integration”. The configuration dialog will be shown.
If you edit information of users within the DATEV application then this plugin will update upon restarting the 3CX client or you can reload data manually. To reload data manually you need to open the DATEV Settings and press the “Reload contacts” button.
You can use the "General" button to configure the basic configuration of the DATEV integration.
These options allow a contact to only be opened when the incoming call number is longer than a certain number of digits. This can prevent short internal numbers from searching for a contact. It is also possible to set the number of digits used to compare the incoming call number and the call number. The other settings do not affect the DATEV integration.
In the case of an incoming call, depending on the settings in the 3CX client, the call is inserted into the telephone log list on the "Telephony" worksheet in the DATEV work center. The time and duration as well as call status are stored.
Start phone calls from DATEV pro
You can start calls directly from DATEV pro by selecting the contact and starting the call via the green handset in DATEV. The call is then executed via the 3CX client or passed on to the connected telephone.
Using the DATEV integration on a windows terminal server
The following procedure must be followed when installing on a Windows terminal server:
1. Log off all users from the terminal server
2. Log on to the terminal server as an administrator, there should be no restricting windows group policies
3. Set the terminal server with "change user / install" in the installation mode
4. Install the latest version of the 3CX client for Windows
5. Provision the 3CX Client via email or PnP
6. Enable the DATEV Integration on the administrator's extension using the 3CX Management Console
7. Stop and restart the 3CX client
8. Set the terminal server with "change user / execute" to the normal operating mode
The DATEV integration for the user "Administrator" should now be present via the 3CX Client’s menu "Advanced - Integration". An additional installation with the 3CX Plugins15.exe is not necessary.
For each user who wants to use DATEV Integration with his / her extension, the integration must be activated via the 3CX management console for this extension. After the first start of the 3CX client on the terminal server with this user, the 3CX clients must be provisioned via eMail or PnP. After a restart of the 3CX client the DATEV Integration is also activated for this user login.
In general the terminal server should use the 3CX client in CTI mode with a corresponding telephone at the user's workstation. The setting for the 3CX client for this extension to start in
CTI mode can be made via the 3CX management console.
An additional installation with the tool 3CXPlugins15.exe is not necessary.
