This Beta version of the 3CX App for iOS, now provides support for local Emergency Numbers (e.g. Ambulance, Police, Fire). In keeping with regulations as defined in the Ray Baum Act outlined below.
Ray Baum Act: Direct Dialing & Notification
The Ray Baum Act and Kari’s Law, requires direct dialing of local emergency numbers (e.g. 911) enabling the caller to dial 911 without having to add a prefix or access code. In addition, the emergency call must provide the dispatch center with information about the caller's physical location. For easy dispatch of assistance, to the site of the emergency.
Offloading Emergency Numbers to GSM Dialer
The 3CX app recognizes when an emergency number is dialed and “offloads” the call to the native GSM dialer instead. This enables the emergency location’s information to be captured.
To note: Emergency Numbers are provided based on the GSM carrier country on your device. For this feature to work, your device needs to have a SIM card installed.
Other fixes and improvements
- Fixed error message when attempting to delete a read-only contact
- Fixed iOS keyboard remaining shown on the dialer after Edit and Call
For optimum performance, we highly recommend upgrading your 3CX PBX to the latest Version 18.
