Speeding towards 3CX V20 Final.
Hot on the heels of last week's Version 20 Release Candidate comes V20 Release Candidate 2. QA testing - including production, bulk and additional unit tests - has now been successfully completed. So, if you’re on V18 and ready to start testing you can now upgrade to V20 - for testing purposes only!
As a reminder, make sure you take a backup before testing as it’s not possible to roll back later. If you’re a reseller with NFRs, we recommend you upgrade these too. More details below on what new features you can expect, what’s planned in the updates to follow, and how to test the Release Candidate.
What’s New?
- New call processing scripts.
- Admin credentials no longer valid - Use System Admin/Owner.
- Google transcription - Speech API V2 support.
- New phone provisioning options.
- Only secure FQDN for Web Client login.
- New Web Client URL requires PWA re-install.
- Create a Fax extension to be used with an ATA connected to a fax machine.
- Fax cleanup option - deletes old faxes.
- Hide interaction history - System > Options > Hide interaction history.
What to Expect in V20 Updates 1 & 2
We gave you a heads up in V20 Beta 2. The below features will not be included in both the Release Candidates and the Final version.
- Editing of Bridges (without presence) - already configured bridges will continue to work.
- Editing of FXS Devices - already configured FXS devices will continue to work.
- Ability to create a Wireshark Capture.
- Reboot OS.
- Hot Desking.
- Ability to schedule Reports.
If you absolutely need these from day one, we suggest you wait for January 2024 when Update 1 becomes available. If, however, you don’t foresee any necessary changes before January 2024 - when Update 1 is released - you can proceed to upgrade to version 20. A Beta version will be released beforehand.
To note: Bridges, FXS devices and Teams integration will work, however, you won’t be able to edit and make changes to their configuration settings - they’ll inherit your V18 settings.
The following features - for which we don't have a formal release date yet - will be available in Update 2:
- Assign a name to a DID to tag a call.
- Editing of the Teams Configuration.
