Desktop app (Electron) to be blocked by mid to end January 2026.
The old Electron-based 3CX Desktop App has been officially deprecated for some time. However it still appears to be in use. Administrators of 3CX systems should know therefore that we will block connection from this app shortly as it is no longer secure and uses old connection mechanisms that are not compatible with the latest v20 versions.
What You Need To Do
You must migrate all users to the 3CX Windows Softphone Client.
- Download or update to the latest Windows Softphone from the Microsoft Store.
- For instructions on how to install and provision the 3CX Windows Softphone app refer to our User Manual.
Cut Off Timeline: Mid to End January 2026
Start your migration now. The cut off date will be mid to end of January 2026.
